Clearly, I will not be returning this school year which means I will have five months off starting in March. Possibly four months with the babies. I feel soooooooooooo lucky to have this time when thousands of mothers in America are going back to work after only 6 weeks!
Charles and I have talked about every scenario in the book for next school year:
1) Me returning to work full time and getting a babysitter for the two days a week he works
2) Me returning to work part time (every other day scenario due to our block schedule) and doing a job share; getting a babysittier for the two-three times a month that our work schedules would overlap.
3) Me returning to work part time (half day scenario) and doing and doing a job share; getting a babysittier for the two days a week that he works.
4) Me staying at home and taking a sabattical from teaching for a year.
Truly we haven't decided. We need to let the district know by May 11th, so this will be a task for me during the month of March. I need to really look at our finances and see what we could truly afford in each situation.
We'll keep you all posted on what we figure out!

Big decision. A tipping point for me would be 'who could I trust with twins' and from there you can look at money and stuff.
What is the worst that could happen if you said you would come back to work and then in June changed your mind?
To Staci: Well unfortunately, it isn't good. I could lose my spot in the district for seniority, could lose benefits, etc. I gotta stay on their good side, especially in this job market! So I hope to figure it out and let them know by their required deadline of May 11th. We'll figure it out....
