I just thought these pictures were cute, showing how the girls have a connection. The first picture was them holding hands in the NICU after I had breastfed. I am not sure they realized whose hand they were holding but it was cute nonetheless.
The picture below was how I found the girls one afternoon during their nap. They were facing each other and almost touching hands, almost in the same positions.
Just yesterday they really began to notice each other. Abigail will stare at Annabelle for a long while in her stoic way. And Annabelle will make all kinds of funny faces and movements to entertain her sister. Charles also videotaped them this week. Annabelle had her pacifier in because she tends to need it more than Abigail. But Abigail saw it like a big red nose and started grabbing it. It was so cute!
Guinevere has a friend who is a twin, and she told us to be aware that the girls may talk to each other before they talk to us as sometimes twins have a language all their own!

Priceless!
So cute. And I have heard that many times over from twins.
Yes, certainly. But also, not just twins, but sibs, too, as I'm sure you know all too well, Amy.
Especially since you 4 (in particular) were so close together and also so close..you know what I mean when you can finish each other's sentences; or have the same thought? Even years down the road and miles apart..
Your Mother and I have always been a 'twin' to each other growing up..plus both being 'the sign of the Twins'. Funny thing..she just sent me a birthday card and in it, she worded something that she does (quirky little thing) that is EXACTLY what I do!
But also, one day, I was cooking something on the stove and decided to call your Aunt Stephanie. She also was cooking something and it was the same thing! Then I called your Aunt Georgia to tell her of our conversation and she too was cooking - the same thing!
Sibs, too..in your case like quadruplets..can be 'twins' with each other and it is remarkable, isn't it?
To Gail: by the way, you have the best comments ever on the site! Thanks for following! And yes, I have witnessed the connection you five sisters have. I think that siblings can definitely be close in that way, especially when they are close in age, and are the same sex as you five are. Or in the case of the four of us kids, that we were all close in age. It is certainly something special and something I don't take for granted as many of my friends are only children. I just feel blessed that I could carry twins so that my children have a possiblity of such a bond. A friend of mine told me once that after her kids fought and came to tattle on each other one afternon, she told them, "I realize you are frustrated now, but just remember that the two of you are the only people in the world who will share the same parents and share the same life growing up. That is a bond and connection you won't be able to find with someone else. So don't make enemies of the only person who will understand what you've been through." I thought that was very cool.
