Good news! After 6 months of injecting myself twice a day with blood thinners, the doctor has told me that I only have to continue for another week! After 26 weeks, I can stop the injections as it seems my immune system is no longer trying to interfere. I will still be taking baby aspirin, as is normal for most pregnant women.
After this, I really do have an appreciation for people with diabetes, or with other diseases treated with injections.

Didn't realize you were on blood thinners. A co-worker of mine has had to inject herself with blood thinners, too. She is due any day now. She said she can stop the blood thinners six weeks after the baby is born.
On a side note..Georgia is finally off blood thinners too after her second heart surgery, which thus far seems to have worked! Yes! So, now..she should feel in the clear to get herself straightened out.
Man! your friend has to continue after the baby is born! Gracious! Charles was worried about me giving birth having blood thinners, thinking I might bleed out....I guess the doctors know.
Oh what good news about georgia! Was she having to do injections? The medicine itself doesn't seem to impact me besides the fact that I am injecting them, and if I do cut myself, I bleed all over the place. This is especially annoying with zits because they don't heal as fast, and I seem to be getting more acne as part of the pregnancy. So my lesson there is not to pick at them!
No, Georgia was taking it orally - Coumadin (sp). My friend has a weird clot thing going on in her leg that I guess she's had for a long time. Her mom and grandma have the same thing. Also, her leg is a big larger than the other one.
I'm glad you get to come off it. Wonderful!
So glad you get to stop the injections. Sounds like everything is progressing well. Yippee. I'm so excited.
Thanks Jeanette. I do feel like I have passed a huge milestone of sorts. The babies are starting to breathe some air now, so they have a better chance of survival should they come early. Good news! thanks for your positive love and support.
